Loft-like apartment with a garden
In 2016 we were asked to redesign a newly reconstructed apartment, which had been done neither with revealing its great potential nor answering the clients demands. The house is located in a wide, calm, residential street. The apartment itself is on the basement and has its own garden and huge windows opened into it. A part of the problem was that there were no windows on the other side, so there was no daylight deeper in the building. After the first reconstruction you entered from one corridor to another, separating the living room and one bedroom from the bathroom and the storage. This idea was wrong, the flat had lack of space and light at the same time. Nevertheless, our client insisted on generous open space with two separate bedrooms. The solution was to create a kind of gradient of privacy, a huge living room with a kitchen, opened to the garden on one side and the entrance and bedrooms on the other one. From each bedroom, divided from the main space just with a step, you can get independently into the bathroom and a walk-in closet.
